Over the years, the NDC’s popularity in Damongo grew tremendously, particularly after the party introduced John Dramani Mahama as running mate to the late John Evans Atta Mills Since then, a strong political sentiment has taken root among many residents most especially among the Gonja people and that any Gonja who refuses to support John Mahama and the NDC is being ungrateful. This long-standing belief fueled deep loyalty among the youth, many of whom invested their hopes and ambitions in the party, convinced that the NDC alone held the key to transforming the constituency and improving their future. The Larabanga Islamic Senior High School, established in 2024 under the Nana Addo/Bawumia administration, is the most recent addition to the public Senior High Schools in the Savannah region. This school's creation fulfilled a promise made by Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia to the chief Imam and elders of the Larabanga community in November 2016, as he sought their prayers and support for the 2016 elections. During the NPP's time in power, from 2017 until the school's establishment,  leaders like Mr. Saeed Muaz Jibril, the MCE, and Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor, the MP for the Damongo Constituency, worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life.   The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Damongo Constituency is mourning the painful loss of one of its most dedicated and long-serving leaders, Hon. Winifred Mbemah. His death, after a period of illness, has left a deep void in the hearts of party faithful and the wider Damongo community. In a heartfelt press release signed by the Damongo Constituency Assistant Secretary, Mr. Ndodu John, the party described Hon. Mbemah as “one of our long-standing and dedicated leaders.” He served as the fifth constituency chairman of the NPP in Damongo from 2012 to 2017 and was also a respected assemblyman for the Hangaline/Ngberipe electoral area for an impressive ten years. Yes, Osramanae classrooms just got a glow-up! Teachers had been dealing with all sorts of stress — from eye infections caused by chalk dust to constantly ruined outfits. The old blackboards weren’t just outdated; they were affecting health and making teaching harder than it needed to be.
