NPP Damongo Mourns Hon. Winifred Mbemah: A Pillar of Loyalty and Service

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Damongo Constituency is mourning the painful loss of one of its most dedicated and long-serving leaders, Hon. Winifred Mbemah. His death, after a period of illness, has left a deep void in the hearts of party faithful and the wider Damongo community.

In a heartfelt press release signed by the Damongo Constituency Assistant Secretary, Mr. Ndodu John, the party described Hon. Mbemah as “one of our long-standing and dedicated leaders.” He served as the fifth constituency chairman of the NPP in Damongo from 2012 to 2017 and was also a respected assemblyman for the Hangaline/Ngberipe electoral area for an impressive ten years. These two key roles positioned him as a grassroots mobilizer, community advocate, and loyal steward of the party’s vision.

His commitment to the NPP dates back decades. “Hon. Mbemah was a key figure in the NPP since the era of Adu Boahen and remained committed to the party until his sudden illness,” the statement said. Even while bedridden, his loyalty never wavered—he continued to contribute to party affairs as a member of the Savannah Regional Council of Elders.

Party members recall his instrumental role during the historic 2016 general elections. “During our collective struggle for power in 2016, he was a crucial leader, guiding us with truth, passion, and unwavering dedication,” the release noted. He was a man who gave his all to the New Patriotic Party, leading by example and inspiring confidence among the rank and file.

The release continued with an emotional tribute: “His sudden departure has left a vacuum in our hearts. May his legacy inspire future generations, and may Almighty God comfort his family during this difficult time.”

Hon. Mbemah’s passing is not just a loss to the NPP, but to the entire Damongo Constituency. He was more than a politician—he was a father figure, an elder statesman, and a symbol of unity and perseverance.

As the NPP bids him farewell, his memory will remain etched in the history of the party and in the hearts of those who benefitted from his leadership and love for service.

May the soul of Hon. Winifred Mbemah rest in perfect peace.
