Savannah NPP Regional Secretary Disowns Publication on Alleged Removal of Secretariat Items

Ayuba Seidu says he has not formally taken over the Regional Secretariat and urges party members to disregard the publication

The Savannah Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Ayuba Seidu, has distanced himself and his team from a publication circulating on social media concerning the alleged removal of items from the Savannah Regional NPP Secretariat.

In a statement issued on Monday, August 31, 2026, Hon. Seidu stated categorically that neither he nor any member of his team authorised, sponsored or had any connection with the publication or its contents.

The clarification comes amid discussions within the Savannah Regional NPP following the recent Regional Elections and claims circulating on social media regarding the state and contents of the Party's Regional Secretariat.

“We Completely Disassociate Ourselves”

According to Hon. Ayuba, he and his entire team completely disassociate themselves from the publication and any allegations contained in it.

He stressed that neither he nor any member of his team had authorised or sponsored the publication, insisting that associating the new Regional Secretary and his team with the claims would be misleading.

No Formal Handover Yet

He explained that, because the formal handover has not taken place, he currently does not have first-hand knowledge of the items in the office, their condition, or whether any items are missing.

Hon. Seidu therefore cautioned against linking him or members of his team to allegations concerning the removal of property from the Secretariat.

He described such an association as unfair and misleading.

Call for an End to the Publication

The Regional Secretary also appealed to whoever may be behind the publication, directly or indirectly, to desist from what he described as such acts.

He further urged members of the general public, particularly members and supporters of the NPP in the Savannah Region, to disregard the publication.

Focus on Unity and 2028

Beyond the immediate controversy, Hon. Seidu used the statement to emphasise the need for unity within the NPP in the Savannah Region.

He said he committed to working respectfully with all Party stakeholders, including former executives, to strengthen the Party and promote unity in the region.

According to him, the Party's attention and resources should be directed towards rebuilding its structures and preparing effectively for the 2028 general elections, rather than becoming consumed by divisive commentary and conduct.

His appeal comes at a time when the NPP is transitioning to a new set of Regional Executives following its recent internal elections.

A Call for Responsible Communication

The Regional Secretary's statement underscores the importance of responsible communication within the Party, particularly at a time when internal cohesion is considered critical to the NPP's preparations for the next general election.

By publicly distancing himself and his team from the publication, Hon. Seidu has also sought to make clear that any assessment of the Regional Secretariat's assets should follow a formal handover and proper documentation.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure that the NPP remains strong and united in the Savannah Region, with the ultimate objective of positioning the Party for victory in 2028.
