S/R: Savannah College of Education Staff Appeal to Government Over Nearly One Year of Unpaid Salaries.

Teaching and non-teaching staff of Savannah College of Education in Daboya have issued an urgent public appeal to the Government of Ghana, calling for the immediate clearance of their appointments and payment of salaries after nearly a year without remuneration.

In a statement signed by Concerned Staff of Savannah College of Education, Daboya, the workers expressed deep concern over what they describe as prolonged delays in the processing of their appointments following the institution's absorption. According to the statement, no member of staff including the Principal and Vice Principal has received an official appointment letter or been cleared onto the government payroll through the Controller and Accountant General's Department.

The staff say the delay has left employees facing severe financial hardship, with many struggling to provide for their families and meet their basic needs. Despite these challenges, they note that they have continued to report to work and discharge their responsibilities in order to ensure the uninterrupted training of future teachers.

The statement appeals directly to the President of the Republic, the Minister for Education, the Minister for Finance, the Controller and Accountant General's Department, and other relevant authorities to intervene without further delay.

Specifically, the staff are requesting that government:

- Expedite the clearance process for all teaching and non-teaching staff.

- Issue appointment letters to all affected employees.

- Ensure that salaries are processed and paid immediately.

- Direct the appropriate ministries and agencies to resolve the matter as a matter of urgency.

The concerned staff expressed confidence in the government's commitment to improving education and safeguarding the welfare of public sector workers. They emphasized that timely intervention would restore hope, improve staff morale, and enable them to continue serving the nation with dignity and dedication.
