Out with the Chalk, In with the Markers! Osramanae JHS Gets a Classroom Makeover
Something exciting just happened at Osramanae M/A Junior High School — and trust Jakpa Gossips to bring you the scoop first!
Thanks to the energetic team of Lead For Ghana Fellows at the school, three old, dusty blackboards have officially been kicked out and replaced with sleek, modern Formica markerboards. Yes, Osramanae classrooms just got a glow-up!
Teachers had been dealing with all sorts of stress — from eye infections caused by chalk dust to constantly ruined outfits. The old blackboards weren’t just outdated; they were affecting health and making teaching harder than it needed to be.
Fast forward to 2024, the Fellows at Osramanae JHS saw the need for change and got straight to work. They launched a fundraising campaign to ditch the chalk and bring in the whiteboards — and guess what? The community showed up!
A special shoutout goes to Shiloh’s Hotel in Kete Krachi for being one of the key supporters. Thanks to their generosity (and others too), the new boards were bought and officially presented to the school on June 10th. The smiles that day? Priceless.
This isn’t just about looking fancy. With the new markerboards, teaching becomes easier, cleaner, and safer. No more chalk dust flying around. Teachers can now focus on what they do best — teaching — without worrying about their health or their clothes.
The Lead For Ghana team at Osramanae JHS deserves major props for making this happen. And of course, the donors, school authorities, and community members who supported the vision — you’re the real MVPs.
From what we’ve seen, this is just the beginning. If these Fellows can pull this off, who knows what next they’ll do? One thing’s for sure — the future of education in Osramanae is looking bright (and very whiteboard-friendly!).
