THE PRESIDENT H.E. NANA AKUFO-ADDO NEVER ORDERED THE YAGBONWURA TO STAND UP AND GREET HIM.

In recent times, there has been a flurry of misinformation circulating regarding an alleged incident involving President Nana Akufo-Addo and the Yagbonwura at the 1-year anniversary of the Overlord of Gonjaland, Yagbonwura Bii Kunuto Jewu Soale I which coincides with the Gonjaland Youth Association (GLYA) 48th congress. It is imperative to set the record straight and dispel any misconceptions surrounding this matter.

Contrary to reports, the venerable Member of Parliament for the Damongo constituency cum the Minister for Lands and Natural Resoources and a darling boy of President Akufo-Addo who led the president to exchange pleasantries at the event has sated emphatically in an interview he granted that at no point in time at the occasion was the Yagbonwura ordered to stand up and greet he the president. Such claims are not only baseless but also undermine the dignity of both the President and the Yagbonwura, as well as the traditional customs they uphold.

The Yagbonwura, like many traditional leaders in Ghana, commands profound respect and admiration from his people and the nation at large. His position is steeped in centuries-old traditions and protocols that are deeply ingrained in Ghanaian culture. Any suggestion that the President would demand such a gesture from him is not only disrespectful but also flies in the face of Ghana's rich cultural heritage. No president has paid homage to the Yagbon skin than the current president.

President Akufo-Addo has consistently demonstrated his reverence for traditional leaders and their customs. Throughout his tenure, he has engaged with traditional authorities across the country with utmost respect and humility, recognizing their invaluable role in Ghanaian society.

The claims suggesting that President Akufo-Addo ordered the Yagbonwura to stand up and greet him are unequivocally false. Let us uphold the principles of truth, respect, and unity as we celebrate the rich diversity of Ghanaian culture and tradition
